hosts: Sheep, goat, cattle, deer, pig, horse, man
Eggs come out with dog faeces →Ingested by intermediate host with contaminated feedstuff →Eggs hatch in the intestine of the intermediate host → oncospheres are released and passes through the intestinal wall into the blood or lymph. → that circulate in blood until they lodge in suitable organs (including skeletal muscle, eyes, brain and subcutaneous tissue) → metacestode (CoĆ©nurus cerebralis) develop in the brain or spinal cord (larvae in other tissues fail to complete their development) → maturation take place and develop to fluid containing cyst with several hundred protoscolices (6-8 months) Final host become infected by ingestion of the bladder worms containing goat brain or spinal cord and all or most of the fully formed heads develop into tapeworm.
